Fresh turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa)

Research on curcumin, the most intensively studied constituent of turmeric, suggests anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, neuroprotective, and antiproliferative actions; and clinical benefits. Reports of fraudulent and/or lead-contaminated ground turmeric spice preparations have increased in recent years.
