Anesthesia monitoring, lizard
Anesthetized iguana being monitored using pediatric mainstream capnography. Note the endotracheal tube adaptor (arrow) and the current ETCO2 reading of 14 mm Hg at 3 breaths/minute. This capnography unit also includes pulse oximetry and is recording a heart rate of 78 beats/minute with an spO2 value of 100%. SpO2 values are not necessarily accurate in reptiles, but appreciating trends is more meaningful.
