Optic nerve atrophy and peripapillary retinal degeneration, horse
In this horse with equine recurrent uveitis, no retinal vessels are visible, which is indicative of optic nerve atrophy. In addition, a butterfly-shaped, hypopigmented lesion consistent with retinal degeneration surrounds the optic nerve.
