Soft tissue sarcoma, dog
A canine patient with a diagnosis of soft tissue sarcoma grade I, which was removed from the antebrachium 3 times before initiation of radiation therapy. A. Fraction 19/19 of 3 Gy. Note that there are patchy areas of moist desquamation (radiation dermatitis or colloquially called a radiation “burn”). There are also areas of red, dry skin that are consistent with dry desquamation. B. One week after completing radiation therapy. Note that the moist desquamation has progressed in severity, and there are several areas of confluent crusts overlying the radiation field. C. Four weeks after completing radiation therapy. Note that the skin has completely healed.
