Trichuris ovis, intestinal wall, sheep

Trichuris ovis attached to the intestinal wall of a sheep. The whip-shaped adults of Trichuris spp are partially embedded in the wall of the cecum and colon. The anterior end of the adult is tapered and hairlike (embedded portion); the posterior end is wider (free in the lumen, pictured here).
