Ulcerative keratitis with stromal loss, dog
A deep ulcer (central black region), surrounded by keratomalacia and stromal cellular infiltrate (yellow-white ring), is visible in this photograph of the central cornea in a French Bulldog's left eye. The cornea is diffusely edematous (blue color) because of the severe keratitis, and both conjunctival and episcleral hyperemia and chemosis, as well as mucopurulent discharge, are evident. Note the flash artifact.
