PROFESSIONAL VERSION
The foot is one of the most common sources of lameness in horses. Several conditions can affect the bony and soft tissue structures within the hoof, including osteoarthritis of the distal interphalangeal joint, navicular syndrome, and distal phalanx fractures. Various other conditions affect the structures of the hoof itself, including laminitis, keratomas, canker, and hoof wall cracks.
